Kinema in the woods
The Kinema in the Woods is a unique, historic four-screen cinema located in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire.
Established in 1922 in an old sports pavilion, it is famous for being the only fully functioning cinema in the UK to still use back projection.
All auditoriums feature state of the art projection and sound technology.
The Kinema in the Woods remains a privately owned family business and is open every day of the year except Christmas Day.
Bransby Horses
Bransby Horses Rescue and Welfare
(formerly known as Bransby Horse Sanctuary) is one of the UK’s largest equine welfare charities, currently caring for over 300 horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules on its 600-acre site near Lincoln. It is a popular, free-to-visit family destination focused on the rescue and rehabilitation of equines.

Opening Hours: Wednesday to Sunday, 10am – 4pm. During school holidays, it is usually open seven days a week.
Cost: Entry and parking are free, though donations are encouraged to support animal care.
Dog Policy: Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome throughout the site and in a designated indoor area called "The Dog House," though they are generally excluded from the main café.

The Green Life Pantry
In the hub of our local Market Town Market Rasen there is a wonderful gem of a shop called The Green Life. It's fab to look around, make your own peanut butter, grab a treat or grab some essentials.
The shop focuses on providing sustainable and eco-friendly options for everyday needs:
Dry Goods & Groceries: Customers can find a wide range of products available by weight, including baking supplies, dried fruit, nuts, loose tea, and coffee beans. A coffee grinder and a peanut butter machine are also available for use.
Household & Bodycare: They stock green household cleaning products (such as from the brand Bio-D), shampoo, and soap, encouraging customers to bring their own containers to refill.
Recycling Point: Beyond sales, the store serves as a community hub for recycling items not typically collected by local services, such as plastic toothbrushes, contact lens packaging, and used stamps
Harts Holme Park
Hartsholme Country Park is a Green Flag Award-winning 200-acre site in southwest Lincoln, featuring Victorian landscaped gardens, a large reservoir, and extensive woodlands. As of February 2026, the park remains open 24 hours daily with free entry and parking.
Opening Hours: The park grounds are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Visitor Centre: Generally open daily from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, subject to staff availability.
Café: On-site café serving hot and cold food, snacks, and ice cream.
Parking: Free parking is available on-site, though some sections were recently resurfaced in late 2025 to improve drainage.
Accessibility: The park features wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking. Path surfaces are mostly level tarmac or compacted stone, making them suitable for prams and many wheelchairs.
Dog-Friendly: Dogs are welcome throughout the park and trails but must be kept on leads at the campsite
Steep Hill Lincoln
Steep Hill first became used by the residents of Lincoln when the city was called Lindum Colonia and the Roman inhabitants decided to expand the settlement down the hill. Excavations has shown that the hill used to be lined by steps during that time.
Today, Steep Hill is famous for its independent businesses - vintage boutiques, quaint tea rooms, chocolate & fudge parlours, and more.
The steep, cobbled street, with a 16.12º gradient, was voted Britain's Great Street in 2012 by the Academy of Urbanism and named the fourth steepest street in England by the Ordnance Survey.

Dambusters Inn
Lincolnshire is famously known as the "Home of the Dambusters," as it served as the base for the RAF's 617 Squadron during their legendary 1943 mission, Operation Chastise.
The raid, which utilized the revolutionary "bouncing bomb" designed by Barnes Wallis, was launched from RAF Scampton.
This pub does not only serve amazing food and have great ales on draft it is full of history and information.
The Black Bull Welton
The Black Bull is a historic village pub and restaurant located in Welton, approximately 6 miles north of Lincoln.
Known for traditional pub food, particularly its Sunday roasts, artisan baguettes with gravy dips, and burgers. It offers separate lunch and main menus.

Nestled in the Lincolnshire countryside.
Just outside Welton Village is home of the first Seven Districts Coffee House.
A perfect spot for a mid-ramble break or quick lunch drive-by, we’ve already welcomed many of the locals, to stop and sample some of our trademark delicious coffee, whilst enjoying our menu of sandwiches, cakes and treats.
Once inside, you can sprawl out on one of our chesterfields and enjoy watching our coffee being roasted as you sip your own.
Lakeside Butchers & Cafe Lounge - Dunholme
Lakeside butchers is family run by a very friendly knowledgable team.
They sell great cuts of meat for all seasons including lots of gluten free options like sausages, burgers and black pudding.
Hot pastries and scotch eggs are also on the counter.
The butchers is next door to the Csfe Lounge Cafe which serve amazing cakes and lovely lunches.
The butcher is open on Sundays but you must go through the Cafe.
Bottle & Glass - Normanby By Spital
This is our local pub, just a few miles down the road - 5 mins in the car and a 30-40 rural walk across fields and through farms from our site.
They serve amazing pub grub every day of the week!

Hemswell Sunday Car Boot Sale
Hemswell Sunday Market is one of the biggest Sunday Market and carboot sales in the country with over 800 stalls trading each week. Ideally located, near Caenby Corner at the junction of the A15 and A631 and only 10 miles from the M180. We have unlimited parking facilities.
